Description:

Continue ​doing ​great ​work ​without ​taxing ​the ​delicate ​joints ​of ​the ​hand ​and ​increase ​career ​longevity. ​Learn ​to ​give ​a ​full ​body ​massage ​using ​the ​forearms ​as ​the ​primary ​tool. ​These ​techniques ​can ​be ​used ​for ​both ​deep ​tissue ​work ​and ​light ​circulatory ​massage. ​This ​workshop ​will ​cover ​body ​mechanics, ​how ​to ​use ​body ​weight ​to ​engage ​tissue, ​depth ​of ​pressure, ​speed ​of ​strokes ​and ​developing ​sensitivity ​in ​the ​forearms, ​as ​well ​as ​forearm ​massage ​techniques ​in ​prone, ​supine ​and ​side-lying ​position. ​Simple ​Qi ​Gong ​exercises ​to ​encourage ​better ​body ​mechanics ​will ​also ​be ​taught.   Here’s a link to a video featuring this technique.

Shari ​Auth ​is ​a ​licensed ​acupuncturist ​and ​massage ​therapist, ​and ​a ​certified ​structural ​integration ​practitioner ​and ​herbalist. ​She ​is ​the ​founder ​of ​the ​Auth ​Method, ​author ​of ​“Auth ​Method: ​A ​Guide ​To ​Using ​the ​Forearms” ​and ​producer ​of ​two ​instructional ​massage ​DVDs ​on ​forearm ​massage. ​Ms. ​Auth ​is ​an ​NCBTMB ​and ​NCCAOM ​approved ​CE ​provider, ​she ​teaches ​internationally ​and ​has ​a ​private ​practice ​in ​New ​York ​city.
