Class Description: *This course is the pre-requisite and Part 1 of “Swedish Institute Certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage: The Alatriste Method (TAM)”.  Students who are not seeking Certification may take this course individually, independent of the Certification.

This course is an in-depth introduction to basic Manual Lymphatic Drainage techniques in preparation for full body therapeutic and esthetic treatments.  Comprehensive anatomy and physiology of the Lymphatic System is presented, and students will learn and practice basic and auxiliary MLD strokes and apply them to treatments for the face, torso and upper and lower extremities using the MLD principles of clearing and drainage of lymph.

*Those who wish to take only this “Foundations” course may take this as an individual course separate from, and independent of, the full Level 1 Manual Lymphatic Drainage Certification.  CEUs and a Certificate of Completion will be awarded for this individual class, but not Certification.

*Those wishing to be fully certified in “Swedish Institute Certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage: The Alatriste Method (TAM)”  must successfully complete both “Foundations” and “Therapeutic and Esthetic Applications”.  Foundations must come first as a pre-requisite to “Therapeutic Applications”.
