CLASS DESCRIPTION:
At this 2.5 day workshop you will get a taste of the theory and practice of Thailand Traditional Massage . Over 2,500 years old Thailand Traditional Massage is done on a padded floor, both practitioner and receiver are clothed comfortably to allow the application of deep Yoga-like stretches to the whole body. Treat ailments, using hands, elbows, feet, knees and legs.This workshop will be very informative, experiential and filled with demos, practice, energizing & limbering exercises & lots of fun. Students will learn a unique set of methods to enhance their bodywork experience. Students looking to enrich the scope of their practice and reinvent the ways in which they can treat their clients on or off the massage table will derive much benefit from this workshop as it will cover some material from the four-weekend Certification Course I offer in Thailand Traditional Massage

Yaron Gal Carmel
Yaron has worked as a bodyworker for over twenty years and has studied with various masters and pioneers in the bodywork field such as Tom Myers, Christoph Summer, Koei Kuwahara, Hugh Milne, Judith Aston, Gil Hedley, Jim Asher and many others. An educator at heart, Yaron is a senior faculty member of the Kinesis School for Structural Integration where he teaches KMI and workshops in “Anatomy Trains”, advanced regional anatomy, and application of fascial release techniques. Yaron is a teaching member at ” The Bodywork Education Project,” where he offers certification courses in Traditional Thai Massage, as well as his own method, Somatologic Moves, which marries Thai Massage and Structural Integration. His teaching style is known for its liveliness, with experiential exercises, hands-on applications, and attention to therapist self-care. Massage and movement therapists alike are inspired and moved by learning experiences with Yaron. He is the owner of The Therapy Center for Mind and Body near Boston, where he maintains a busy private practice.
He is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider, under Category A

CEH’s will be granted only to those who register and attend the entire class. No partial credit can/will be awarded.
Cancellations of more than 14 days prior to a class are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations less than 14 days are not refundable, but monies less a $100 processing fee may be applied to any future AMTA-NY Chapter event. No shows are not eligible for refund or use on future classes. Cancellations are based on post mark or email date and all cancellations must be in writing. Exceptions made only with approval of the AMTA-NY Chapter Board of Directors. Continuing Education Credit Certificates given only upon successful completion of class. No partial credit will be issued. Partial refunds for non-completed classes given only in emergency situations and with Chapter President’s approval.
