Class Description:
Student will be able to: describe a trigger point (TP), identify causes of TP’s, recognize common client complaints, indicate TP patterns, understand causative factors, implement treatment strategies, begin to palpate TP’s, Course Description; identify active TP’s, begin to recognize and identify common signs/symptoms of myofascial pain patterns, implement effective use of Travell and Simons text to assess and treat complicated cases, discuss causative factors with clients, demonstate effective implementation of treatment strategies & identify perpetuating factors.
Please arrive 15 minutes early the first day to register and set up.
We welcome all NYS licensed massage therapists, NYS professionals who are licensed to provide massage (physicians, nurses, podiatrists, physical therapists, chiropractors) and currently enrolled massage therapy students to our classes. Per New York State law, you must either have a New York State license to participate in the hands-on portions or, in the case of massage therapy students, be directly supervised by your instructor or other licensed massage therapist.

Cancellations:
Cancellations of more than 14 days prior to a class are eligible for a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations less than 14 days are not refundable. No shows are not eligible for refund. Cancellations are based on post mark or email date and all cancellations must be in writing. Exceptions made only with approval of the AMTA-NY Chapter Board of Directors. Continuing Education Credit Certificates given only upon successful completion of class. No partial credit will be issued. Partial refunds for non-completed classes given only in emergency situations and with Chapter President’s approval.
